Lead Eaters was founded in 1996 by Ian Richardson. Described by some (himself) as a visionary filmmaker, Ian discovered his love of filmmaking in 1989 - when he was given a video camera during a school class to film random images of himself and his classmates.
Despite having a natural gift for film direction, production, editing and writing - Ian soon realised that he lacked all the necessary technical knowledge to properly produce films using computer editing. He enlisted the help of friend Ashleigh 'The Ape' Charlesworth - who some said was more machine than man - due to having a cybernetic arm grafted onto his body after a childhood motorcytcle accident. Ashleigh's flair for techincal smarts proved crucial in the earliest Lead Eaters production - The Unthinkables, a short 'police spoof' that was filmed in Portsmouth.
Together Ian and Ashleigh have produced many films over the last ten years…

What does the future hold? Well, people are always getting married, so there will be no shortage of that work!
Stay tuned for the 2006 release of the as yet unnamed feature length Lead Eaters film, currently in pre-production - that will reunite the cast and crew from 'The Unthinkables'.
